Password Protected Ticket Types

Password protecting a ticket category allows you to control who can view and purchase specific tickets. This feature is ideal for member-only sales, presales, VIP tickets, exclusive offers, and private events.

Only customers who enter the correct password will be able to access and purchase tickets within the protected category.

Step 1: Access Event Management

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Navigate to "Manage Events" and then "Current Events".

  3. Find the event you wish to password protect, click its "Event options" button and select "Tickets".

Step 2: Enabling Password Protection

  1. Click the edit pencil on the first ticket type of the category you would like to password protect (the one created with the category).

  2. Locate the "Require a password to buy" field.

  3. Enter the password you want to use. It applies to every ticket type in this category, and a lock icon appears next to the category name.

  4. Repeat these steps for any additional ticket categories you wish to protect.

  5. Click "Save" in the top left-hand corner to ensure your settings are applied.

  6. Test your password protection on the event page. Protected tickets show a lock instead of their price. Customers enter the password under "Apply access code to show available tickets" and click "Apply" to unlock them.

Tips:

  • Use a strong, unique password that is difficult to guess.
  • Share the password only with the intended audience.
  • Use different passwords for different ticket categories if required.
  • If you believe the password has been shared unintentionally, update it as soon as possible.
  • Test your password-protected tickets before publishing your event.
  • To give different groups their own password for the same category, enter several passwords separated by commas. Passwords are not case-sensitive.

  • Box office staff can sell protected tickets without the password.
